Camcorder accessories – get the most from your camera
My plans to shoot my own film continue apace. Lately I’ve been looking at camcorder accessories in an attempt to see if there are any ways in which I can boost the functionality of my camera and maybe even generate some in-camera special effects without any time-consuming digital editing work.
I think what I’m going to do is work out out what I can do effects-wise first then write the script around it. Robert Rodreigez, the director of Spy Kids and Desperado, advocates this kind of film making, stating that limitations force directors to be more creative than they otherwise would be.

Broken laptop adapter disaster
Like a lot of people, I use my laptop for playing movies a lot. It’s useful on buses and on the train and things, but I also sometimes use it at home as well, if I’m having a lazy morning in bed and fancy watching a film.
But I won’t be using it for a while now – I broke my laptop adapter the other day. I stood on it, as I have countless times before with no ill effects, but this time it finally decided enough was enough and gave up the ghost for good. I should be able to find a new one online, so the hitch should only be temporary, but it’s still annoying.

Where to buy camcorder accessories?
For me, this has been one of the poorest year’s for movies in recent memory. Bar Star Trek and The Hangover there has been little to really catch my eye.
Instead of just grumbling about the lack of choice, however, I’m going to do something about it.
That’s why I’ve been on the web the past week looking at camcorder accessories – such as spare batteries and the like – as I plan to film my own motion picture.
Obviously I don’t have the benefit of “green screens”, A-list stars and 3D technology like on James Cameron’s Avatar but, I’ve got a great story and real passion for the project.
