Mineral makeup – taking Hollywood by storm

Apparently, the latest craze amongst Hollywood actresses is mineral makeup. It’s become the makeup of choice on set for most movie makeup artists, who love how easy it is to apply and the final, smooth effect which conventional makeup cannot match. It’s also more natural than other types of makeup, and kinder to the skin, which means it can be worn all day (as actors have to) without causing damage to the skin

Directors love it too because even when projected in high definition on a huge cinema screen it still looks completely natural while giving actors a touch of extra colour. It seems that mineral makeup has caused quite a stir across the pond, and I think it’s available here now as well.

Premium Bond

I like James Bond movies as much as the man himself likes a Vodka Martin – shaken not stirred, of course – so it’s with frustration that I see that the 23rd movie in the franchise has been delayed.

Apparently MGM – the powerhouse behind the movies – is being put up for sale by parent company Sony and, until a sell has been agreed, pre-production has been halted.

When the movie does emerge, and it probably won’t be until summer 2012, it should be a cracker with the news that Oscar-winner Peter Morgan is on scriptwriting duty.
