I was doing a bit of tidying up round my flat the other day, and I came across an old mobile phone that I no longer use. It’s a perfectly good phone – I just have a new, better model that I upgraded to a while back.
So I did a bit of research online, and it turns out I can sell my mobile to a mobile phone recycling company and get a bit of extra cash for it. They will then go on to recycle it, using the parts to fix other phones or selling the phone on in another country.
It’s a win-win situation for everyone. Instead of just gathering dust and eventually ending up in a landfill site, the phone will go on to be useful to someone, and I end up with a little extra money as well.

I’m always a big fan of recycling, and I’m an even bigger fan of money, so you can imagine how happy I was when I found out that some mobile phone recycling companies will actually give you cash for your old mobile phones!
It’s a really great service if you, like me, have a collection of old mobiles gathering dust in the back of a drawer someplace. It’s really easy to use as well – they’ll send you a pre-paid envelope, and you just stick your phones inside and send it off. The amount you get depends on the make of phone and what sort of condition it’s in, but it’s basically free money, and who wouldn’t like that?
